It's easy to get caught up in a Sports Centre version of politics where we cheer for our team, but political theory helps us go deeper and understand the new reality of Canadian politics.
I don’t understand why RW Canadians are not embracing the Trump talk. Sure in an ideal world for RW Canadians they would have honest representatives who want to return Canada to its roots, but that is clearly not an option at this point. You get globohmo Carney or Pierre… same difference on THE only issue that matters immigration. So instead of having some sort of pipe dream of a real right in Canada I dont understand why MAGA/Trump/Annexation isn’t even considered by the Canadian right.
I agree with your assessment here. I'd honestly prefer Carney over Poilievre at this point. Carney has to at least feign nationalism for a while, which might cause Cons to reorganize or split, while Poilievre is going to play "economic zone" as Conservatives cheer it on.

That is a fun plan.

And Poilievre may be compromised vis a vis Indian power groups. I can’t stomach the Liberals because of the outright hatred of Christians.
